The Ghostbusters have a new look and not everyone is a fan

In 1984, Ghostbusters blew the minds of audiences and critics alike. However, while the sequel, Ghostbusters II, was not as loved by critics, fans still came out to see their favorite paranormal investigation team.

When a reboot of the beloved franchise was announced, most fans found themselves more shocked than amazed. For you see, their favorite 80’s movie cast (Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson, and Dan Akryod) would be replaced by a full cast of female characters (Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon).

Many fans of the Ghostbusters felt like they were stabbed with a metaphorical knife. Or perhaps, Slimer had been put in charge of everything.

One the cast members even had to say something to the situation, “It shouldn’t be these women’s or men’s movies that drive people to anger, it should all be mixed, which is why people are like ‘well you should mix the Ghostbusters.’ I have too many funny women I want to put in there, it’s a cause, but it’s too selfish of a cause because there are too many funny women.”

Some believe the all-female cast would be a great idea, others are not a big fan of that plan, but one thing is for sure…many people want to see home 2016 reboot works out.
