Movie Reviews

Straight Outta Compton

Straight Outta Compton is entertaining and dynamic; it is great but feels a little thin and unruly in a form of a cinematic field. Director F. Gary Gray seemed forced some scenes into submission and those scenes just look sloppy and bland. Despite this, the movie is still worthwhile and one of the best movies anyone will see this year. Moviegoers will be thrilled to see their favorite legends come to life on the big screen, even with a few flaws.

The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

The Man from U.N.C.L.E. is a very good movie in the secret agent/spy genre, but it does not quite live up to the others as big like Mission Impossible or 007. The movie is definitely worth your time and will leave you with a great taste of wanting more action. With great build ups there are also a few disappointments. It feels like the source material and actions will be unpredictable, but sometimes it just gets cheesy and bland. The movie seemed like it would not disappoint and, for the most part, it did not. The movie is definitely good, but also feels like a regular old spy movie with a new gimmick.

American Ultra

American Ultra is a solid comedy/action movie. It has a good feel of action and comedy, but it definitely over uses and over sells it at times. The film does not run as smoothly as a comedy movie would and focuses on the action a lot more. It leaves viewers with bone crushing action, but losses some of the charm that it started with. Unfortunately, it does not gain it back or give back to the viewers and ends just disappointing.

Hitman: Agent 47.

Movies based on a video game series have a record of being bad, but Hitman: Agent 47 is one of those movies that proves that theory is not completely true. A good number of scenes are flawed, but others are actually really good. However, the flaws in the movie serve as a constant reminder. For instance, the antagonist feels flat and acts more like some goon. Additionally, the CGI effects are not that great and move quickly so the people watching will not notice. If you are in the mood for a good video game movie, even a good action movie I definitely recommend hitman agent 47.

Summer is coming to a close, but new movies hope to bring a new level of joy. Here are four new movies intending to bring excitement to us in the month of September.

A Walk in the Woods: The movie appears to be a bond between father and son tale. Hopefully, it brings a lot of new features in father-son movies.

The Transporter: Back in 2002, this was definitely a great movie. Now, we have a fourth installment in a franchise of action sequences. The series is refueled and ready for more action; hopefully, this one will bring back what the other ones delivered.

The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials: The second installment of the Maze Runner series, which is based on the best-selling novels. This movie is looking to build on the success of the first movie, which was released last year.

War Pigs: Movies based on war are always harsh but visually great, and this one looks like it’s going to bring that feeling as well.
