Homecoming: A Night to Remember

Staff Writer: Sydney Torres

It is so unfortunate that homecoming week left us just as quickly as it came. However, it did not go without leaving us with so many incredible memories.

The homecoming parade on Wednesday, Sept. 30 was a tremendous success and brought a huge turnout of both students and people of the community. Many clubs at the school had floats in the parade, including the Beta Club and the Latin Club. The senior class also had a float in the parade, through which many seniors participated.

As Friday, October 2, rolled around, it was time for the big homecoming game, although our team could not pull out a win against Lassiter, the student body was still able to have a magical time under the Friday night lights.

To this, we owe much thanks to the homecoming presentation at halftime. All of the people on the homecoming court looked their best as they were presented for the whole crowd to see. Perhaps the most shining beauty that night, however, was the 2015 homecoming queen, Elizabeth Beatty.

Beatty said that this experienced gave her an “overwhelming sense of love” from her peers and she is so happy that her boyfriend, Jackson Beasley, was able to experience it by her side.

The homecoming dance was a happening scene on the night of Saturday, October 3. So many students dressed up and showed out in the Woodstock High School cafeteria and danced the night away with so many of their best friends. The Greek theme was evident inside the dance, complete with columns and white tapestries.

Freshman Cassidy Urode explained the scene at homecoming to feel like “something out of a postcard.” A DJ at the front of the dance floor lit up the dance, playing the perfect song for every moment. It was definitely an evening that all the attendees will never forget.
