Staff Member: Meghan Pierce

For the last leg of their 2015 Anything Goes Tour, Florida-Georgia Line performed at Aaron’s Amphitheatre at Lakewood this past Saturday, October 17.

Front men Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard, opened up their segment of the show with the headliner, “Anything Goes”, followed by fan favorites “Dirt”, “’Round Here” and “Sundaze.”

Although the concert began at 7:30 pm, the Florida-Georgia Line boys did not hit the stage until two hours later. The opening act of Frankie Ballard and Thomas Rhett warmed up the crowd with radio hits “Sunshine and Whiskey” and “Die a Happy Man” until the main band was ready to roll.

After an array of country music, the crowd was pleasantly surprised with Florida-Georgia Line’s encore choice: “We Dem Boyz”, usually performed by Hip-Hop artist Wiz Khalifa. The band closed out the show with a cover of the both “Friends in Low Places” and “Chattahoochee” sang originally by Garth Brooks and Alan Jackson, respectively.

Attendees of the Georgia concert rumor that their show was amped up compared to others across America simply due to Hubbard’s hometown of Monroe, Georgia. Kelley, on the other hand, performed to his home state of Florida at their March performance in Orlando.
