Woodstock High School is the home of many diverse activities. Well known clubs such as Beta, and newer clubs such as the Fencing Club. The captain of the Fencing Club is Matthew Brown, who also started the club.  He is 17, a senior, and has been fencing for 3 years.

Matthew wanted to start  the club, “I love fencing and I really wanted to share it with everyone at school,” he said.  The club began about a month ago. There is no limit as to how many people can join the club and meets are every Wednesday in Mrs. Rybergs room (200). Where you join, and pick up information on the club if you’re interested.

The fencing club only competes at a high school level, not in any national competitions.  National competitions are only tied to the United States Fencing Association. Besides competition and winning, there are many benefits to joining; such as making new friends, learning to fence, and potential scholarships if you’re dedicated enough.fencing
