Lead story: Woodstock Varsity girls are off to a good start with their record being2-0! The girls have been working very hard everyday and making sure they are prepared for game days. Welcoming a new coach to the team has made the girls work harder to prove to him they are ready for the rest of the season. The program and coach are very excited to see the success these girls bring to Woodstock!

Region record 2-0
In case you missed it: The girls have been taking big wins with fantastic efforts! Sofia Tunon hit a home run the very first game to kick off the season! Welcoming a new coach to the team has made the girls work harder to prove to him they are ready for the rest of the season. The girls swept Cherokee with the score being 6-1 and also against Roswell with a score of 7-2!
Welcoming Coach Gray: If you haven’t heard, the Varsity team has recently got a new head coach. He is ready to push the girls to the best of their ability and take on the challenges this season. The girls love his hard work and dedication to the team and are very excited to take on the next month with him! Woodstock is very thankful for him and his dedication to take time to help and train these girls!

Tunon has been leading the team this month with her outstanding performances! She is hoping to lead the team to their many goals they have set like: winning region, Elite 8, and ultimately winning state. In case you missed out, to start off the season, in the first game Sofia hit a home run to take the lead against North Paulding! Sofia is going to continue her career at University of Georgia with a softball scholarship! She is very excited to start the season and see her team’s success.
Off the Diamond: The Wolverine softball program is raising money for the softball team to cover practice equipment, field maintenance, and travel expenses. The school district doesn’t cover all the expenses for these athletes. The program, team, and coach would greatly appreciate any donation!
