Does Reality TV Promote Bad Behavior?

Staff Writer: Jordan Van Dyke

Do you have an interest in joining the drama club? Or, even curious about what type of things you could be doing and learning if you joined? If so, I have all of the information you need to decide!

I connected with drama director, Ms. LaRicci, over email to see what all of you can do in the drama department! Ms. LaRicci got back to me and said, “Drama is a great place to be for anyone who is interested in anything from acting to lighting design, sound design, costuming, building and painting sets, and everything in between! A lot of people think that drama is just acting but there is so much more to it and drama can be a great fit for anyone!”

I also got a chance to ask her what you need to do if you want to join. She said, “If you want to join drama, all you have to do is attend a drama club meeting! We have meetings monthly and always announce the times and dates on the morning announcements when we have meetings. We also post updates on our social media sites when we have meetings as well!”

I felt it was necessary to also get the perspective from third year drama student, Peyton Alexander. I asked Peyton about her past years in drama and about what being in drama has taught her. Here is what she had to say, “I have learned so much being in drama, I have learned all about the technical side of productions but, no matter what position you choose, every role in drama is equally enjoyable and crucial.”

When it comes to the relationships Peyton has made being in drama she said, “Drama has given me almost every single friend that I currently have right now. This program brought me and my best friends together and that’s a huge part as to why Drama is so prevalent in my life.”

If you think drama is the right fit for you, feel free to stop by room 602 to get further information from Ms. LaRicci! Even if drama is not your playing field, definitely come out and support your friends in the drama department’s take on The Great Gatsby, opening November 9 at 9:30 in the auditorium! It will be a great show and you will definitely be entertained!
