Successful Senior Project

Staff writer: Jordan Van Dyke

This month I thought I would catch up with another senior and how things have been going with the semester coming to an end. I had the pleasure of interviewing one of my best friends, Maddie Ricketts. I asked Maddie 9 questions on her past and current experiences in high school, with also her favorite memories, hardest moments, and some questions about her senior year and what she’s most looking forward to.

How is senior year going so far?

Maddie: I would say it is going pretty good so far! This year has been very stressful but very enjoyable at the same time.

What are you doing your senior project on?

Maddie: I am doing my project through Chattahoochee Tech, to be a CNA, I am really excited actually.

What has been the hardest part about your senior project?

Maddie: I would say the research paper and the annotated bibliography mainly.

Do you have any doubts about this year?

Maddie: This year not so much, all of my classes are pretty simple I just have to stay on top of homework and make sure I study for all my midterms.

What are you most looking forward to besides graduation?

Maddie: I really want to make my parents proud, that’s what makes senior year worth it.

Which year of high school would you say has been the hardest year?

Maddie: I would say junior year was definitely the hardest year by far. It was my first year at Woodstock so adjusting to new people and the new environment with also being in some pretty tough classes. It was a very stressful year but again it’s all worth it walking the stage at graduation.

Do you have any plans for college after graduation? If so what?

Maddie: I absolutely do plan on going to college. At first I would like to start off at a smaller college like Reinhardt and after getting some core classes out of the way I want to transfer to UGA and graduate from there.

What would you say has been your best high school memory?

Maddie: The best time I had was when I was a varsity cheerleader at my old high school! I loved it.

Who is your favorite teacher and why?

Maddie: My favorite teacher would have to be Mrs. Wilkinson. She isn’t just a teacher to me, she cares and makes such a big effort for her students. She is always there when I need help or just need advice.
