“Might I add, this isn’t the first time this has happened.”

Staff Writer: Jordan Van Dyke

For this month’s article I decided to start the year off interviewing one of my favorite people, Isabella McWhorter. Isabella, also known as Izzy, is a senior at Woodstock High school and is just as ready to graduate as the rest of us. Here are some of the questions I asked Izzy about herself and her last year in High school:

Did you see any differences in the first semester of this school year compared to previous years?

Yes, first semester of this year was much more laid back than all my past years here. There’s not as much to stress about anymore.

What was your career choice for your senior project?

I studied Veterinarian medicine.

What made you want to look closer into this career?

Ever since I was little, I’ve always loved and cared for all different types of animals. One day, my family actually found a baby bird laying on the ground at a park, we decided to take it home and nurse it ack to health and ever since I just knew that caring for animals was what I wanted to do.

Do you think you would like to continue looking into becoming a vet?

Yes, for sure. It is 100% what I would like to do as a career.

Are you more excited or scared to graduate?

I am kind of both honestly. I’m excited to go to college and start a new chapter in my life but I am also really scared to leave a lot of my friends and step into the more adult world.

So far, what do you think has been the hardest part about senior year?

The hardest part has definitely been trying to stay n top of things. It is all more important this year.

What are your college plans?

My college plans are going to KSU in the fall.

Do you honestly think senior project benefited you in making steps towards your career or college?

Yes. At first, I really didn’t know too much about what it takes to be a veterinarian but, after all the research senior project allowed us to do I pretty much know everything about the steps I need to take.

What is your favorite animal and why?

Definitely elephants. They’re the smartest animal there is.

You are the new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why? Go into detail.

Orange. Orange is such a bright and fun color. It represents fire, the sun and warmth. It also represents fall which is by far my favorite season, fall gives me a nice cozy vibe.

What has been your favorite part of High school?

My favorite part of High school is all the amazing friends I’ve made throughout all the years and making lifelong friends for sure.

What has been your least favorite part?

My least favorite is definitely having to wake up early.

What is the funniest thing that has happened to you recently?

I tried to open a car door that was NOT mine and the alarm went off. Might I add, this is not the first time this has happened.
