Animes To Watch Winter and Spring Season 2019

     There are numerous amines that have aired this year, and I’m here to help you choose which ones to watch.

     Starting the list off is Kaguya-sama: Love is war. This show is a romantic comedy guaranteed to make you laugh. The story is about the renowned Shuchiin Academy, Miyuki Shirogane and Kaguya Shinomiya are the student body’s top representatives. Ranked the top student in the nation and respected by peers and mentors alike, Miyuki serves as the student council president. Alongside him, the vice president Kaguya, she is the eldest daughter of the wealthy Shinomiya family and excels in every field imaginable. They are the envy of the entire student body, regarded as the perfect couple. However, despite both having already developed feelings for the other, neither are willing to admit them. The first to confess loses, will be looked down upon, and will be considered the lesser. With their honor and pride at stake, Miyuki and Kaguya are both equally determined to be the one to emerge victorious on the battlefield of love.

     This show is a fun ride and the animation is great. This show was animated by A-1 Pictures, and they did a great job. This anime will sure to make you laugh, and I’m not the only one to think so. Kya Moore, a freshman at Woodstock Highschool said this about the anime “This anime was one of the best shows to come out this year period, and I couldn’t stop laughing the whole time I was watching it.” So, go ahead and give Kaguya-sama: Love is war a try. 

     The next show on are list is The Promised Neverland. This show is an action thriller, and it can give you a good scare. The show starts you off surrounded by a forest near a gated entrance, the Grace Field House is inhabited by orphans happily living together as one big family, looked after by their “Mama,” Isabella. Although they are required to take tests daily, the children are free to spend their time as they see fit, usually playing outside, if they do not venture too far from the orphanage. A rule they are expected to follow no matter what. However, all good times must come to an end, as every few months, a child is adopted and sent to live with their new family, never to be heard from again. However, the three oldest siblings have their suspicions about what is happening at the orphanage, and they are about to discover the cruel fate that awaits the children living at Grace Field, including the twisted nature of their beloved Mama.

     This show is really a great one, and you will have so much fun watching it. A boy by the name Tyson Armstrong stated this about the show, “When I first watched the show, I really didn’t expect the plot twist that happened on the first episode, it really shocked me.” This show was animated by the studio CloverWorks. It is very well animated, and it’s a blast to watch. 

     An anime from the spring season lineup is Fruits Basket. This is a remake of the old classic anime of the same name, and so far, it exceeds the original.  

     After a family tragedy turns her life upside down, 16-year-old high schooler Tooru Honda takes matters into her own hands and moves out into a tent. Unfortunately for her, she pitches her new home on private land belonging to the mysterious Souma clan, and it isn’t long before the owners discover her secret. But, as Tooru quickly finds out when the family offers to take her in, the Soumas have a secret of their own‚ when hugged by the opposite sex, they turn into the animals of the Chinese Zodiac.

     This show is a fun time, and it’s newly animated by studio TMS Entertaiment. A Woodstock Highschool freshman, by the name of Angel Perez had this to say about the show “The original Fruits Basket was one of my favorite animes as a kid, and this remake makes it even better.”  If you have time you should really put this show on your watch list. 

    The final anime on the list is Kimetsu no Yaiba. This anime is an action series, and it’s beautifully animated by Ufotable.  

     Since ancient times, rumors have spread of man-eating demons lurking in the woods. Because of this, the local townsfolk never venture outside at night. Legend has it that a demon slayer also roams the night, hunting down these bloodthirsty demons. For young Tanjirou, these rumors will soon to become his harsh reality. Ever since the death of his father, Tanjirou has taken it upon himself to support his family. Although their lives may be hardened by tragedy, they’ve found happiness. But that warmth and happiness is shattered one day when Tanjirou finds his family slaughtered and the lone survivor, his sister Nezuko, turned into a demon. Thus, begins Tanjirou’s quest to fight demons and turn his sister human again.

     This show is one of the best action series that has come out this year, and with it being animated by Ufotable the animation isn’t lacking. Amari Lashai, A Woodstock Highschool freshman, said this “ Kimestu no Yaiba is still airing, but it’s a very fun ride and I would recommend it.” And I agree with her statement.  

     With that said, this ends are list. All the shows on the list are very good and you should definitely give each one a try.
