The prom theme was recently announced as the Roaring Twenties! On April 25, from 7-10 pm, we will be having the time of our lives. Prom is a big deal for seniors in high school. It is the last dance of our high school career. Prom is both a celebration and a goodbye to the past four years.

There seems like a lot of time before prom to prepare, but second semester is definitely a stressful and busy time. It can go by fast so try and at least get an idea of what you plan on doing for prom. Whether it’s deciding if you are taking a party bus with your friends or deciding on the perfect dress or suit.

I went around school asking a few high school senior girls what they plan on wearing to prom. Kailee Bradix, senior, said, “I might not go to the prom, but if I do, I will wear a long black dress.”
Senior, Savannah Allen, said, “I want to wear something unique looking. I have not gone out shopping for a dress yet, but I have a general idea of what I will wear.”
Emily Cranston, senior, told me, “If I go to prom, I would probably wear a long dress, or maybe even a suit.”
Prom dresses can be extremely expensive, but do not worry, there are plenty of options so that you can still wear a pretty dress without emptying your bank account.
Woodstock has a lot of nice thrift stores around, some of which have long party dresses. Even if you do not find your dress there, it would still be a fun experience to have with your friends.
Different types of colors usually look better on certain skin undertones, otherwise called complexion. If you have a warm undertone, warm colors would most likely look better on you. If you have a cool undertone, cooler colors like blue and purple would be a good suit for you. If your undertone is neutral, you can get away with wearing any color prom dress.
The most important thing about finding your prom dress is knowing what you like. You do not have to follow current dress trends if you do not want to. Wear whatever it is that makes you feel good above all. Remember that the most important part of prom is having fun either with your friends or your date.
