Covid has affected our lives, whether we know it or not. It has changed the way the world works and how we view it. And some things can never go back to the way they were.
Breana Arnold says, “Covid affected me in a way that no one could have imagined, but it wasn’t only me who went through this, it was the entire world. When covid happened, the world shut down, closing stores, restaurants, and so many other places.”
During Covid, depression and anxiety got to an all time high. According to https://covid19.nih.gov/ “A study was done in 2021 that stated that nearly half of Americans had recent symptoms of anxiety or depression.”
Breana Arnold also says, “Not being allowed to leave your home meant that you could never see your family or friends. This caused others to have social anxiety when talking to people.”
People being stuck inside made it so people got new hobbies. And a lot of people got into Tik Tok.
According to https://www.forbes.com/ Tik Tok expanded 75% during covid. Tik Tok grew a lot during quarantine because it gave people something to do. Now currently 12,228 people work for this company.

The Tik Tok logo came from an unnamed designer. The logo came to him after a concert he went to.
Also, more small businesses started to open now and during Covid. According to “How Many New Businesses are Started Each Year” states that 5 million businesses were started in 2022. Small businesses have increased 20% from 2019 to 2020. Small businesses increased because of new technologies, being home, and spare time.
Education was also majorly affected. So many people were online because of covid. Parents would keep their kids at home, and if they got sick, they would stay home for 2 weeks. More schools up north would have masks be mandatory than the schools in the south. Many people also didn’t go to school during the peak of Covid.
The development of little kids during covid was impacted as well. My uncle has 2 kids, and they have had some trouble adjusting after Covid. The first time they went outside to the store without masks, they were so excited. But they had never complained about masks before, because that was all they knew.
Healthcare workers were also affected. They had to make sure they didn’t get sick. According to https://aspe.hhs.gov/ many healthcare workers suffered from burnout, exhaustion, and trauma. This is because of the amount of people healthcare workers had to watch pass away. Many people quit because they were being over worked.

This is what most people in healthcare during covid looked like. They had to wear the face masks to protect themselves from the virus getting in from there face.
Because of Covid, everyone stayed in the house. This gave the environment some time to recover from all the things humans had done. Some scientists say that covid was essential because the population of humans was getting out of hand. According to https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/ “Air quality has improved in many cities with a reduction in water pollution in different parts of the world.
The theater department was made so that they couldn’t perform during Covid. Khalil Pendleton says, “I think Covid had affected the drama program rather negatively, ranging from kids being online so they can’t do drama to trouble with grades so they can’t participate in shows. But ever since then we’ve had a lot of participation over the last few years.”
And many people have joined a fine arts program since covid. This could be due to the fact that people needed an outlet after Covid.
Although people have changed since Covid, the world is finally starting to go back to normal, and we should be very thankful for that.
