Christmas is My Favorite time of Year!

Staff Writer: Savannah Gilbert

During this time of the year the air is filled with joy and excitement of Christmas time. It’s a magical season where families and friends come together to celebrate, exchange gifts, and create lasting memories. The sight and feeling of beautifully decorated Christmas trees, the sound of cheerful carols, and the aroma of delicious holiday treats and smells all contribute to the festive spirit. From cozying up by the fireplace to enjoying warm hot chocolate, Christmas brings a sense of warmth and happiness. It’s a time when people show kindness and generosity. Spreading love and making others smile. Whether it’s the joy of giving or the thrill of unwrapping presents. Christmas is truly a special time of year.

Usually families wait till the day after thanksgiving to put up their Christmas tree. Unless the Christmas spirit arrives a little earlier. Putting up your tree, whether it’s real, fake, has snow, changes colors, or just has plain lights, brings so much magic into the home. For traditional families spending time with them, you love reminiscing on all the memories through the years of ornaments is so special and something you remember forever. “I love spending time with my family and setting up the tree. It brings so much joy and it is a memory I will have forever and ever. And seeing the tree all lit up is so warming.”- Morgan Emory

Now let’s talk about the magic of gifts. For little kids Christmas is their favorite because they don’t have to give gifts, they just receive them. But knowing the true meaning of gift giving is special. Gift giving lies in the joy it brings to both the giver and the recipient. When you give someone a gift, it shows that you care about them and want to make them happy. It’s a way of expressing love, appreciation, and thoughtfulness. Whether you’re in a relationship or its friends and family. The anticipation of seeing their reaction and the smile on their faces is truly magical and is what’s makes gift giving special. It makes you want to give to everyone.

And on the receiving end, you know it’s a wonderful feeling to know that someone has put their time and effort into choosing a special gift just for you. It creates a sense of connection and warmth between people. The act of giving and receiving gifts can strengthen relationships, create lasting memories, and can spread happiness even for those that don’t have anything many people have set up a way to give those gifts to because everyone deserves to feel loved during this season. It’s a beautiful tradition and adds an extra touch of magic to the holiday season.

When you think of Christmas you mostly think of opening presents, the trees, light shows and all the exciting things that come with the spirit of the holidays. But some forget to also think about the warmth when it comes to sitting by a fire and drinking hot chocolate. Or watching your favorite Christmas movies with your friends or the ones you love. “I love watching movies and making sweet treats with my family. It’s nice to relax in this world of chaos.” -Kylie Ewing.
